About Wembury

Located on the south coast of Devon not far from Plymouth, holidays in Wembury revolve around the beautiful Wembury Beach, managed by the National Trust. Here you'll find acres of soft sand, safe swimming and an expanse of rock pools at low tide, brimming with fascinating sea life. Wembury Marine Centre is based here where you can learn all about the beach and surrounding Marine Conservation Area via interactive displays, tanks and regular 'Rockpool Rambles' run by the centre.

The scenic South West Coast Path runs just behind the beach, rewarding dog owners and walking enthusiasts with fabulous cliff-top routes in both directions, and the beautiful surrounding farmland is criss-crossed with footpaths to explore. Wembury is also a well-known surfing beach, but with no lifeguard cover, surfing here is only encouraged for those with experience.

If you're looking for places to eat whilst on holiday in Wembury, there's a cosy, family-friendly pub, The Odd Wheel, serving an extensive menu, and also a lovely café at Wembury Beach which is owned by the National Trust and has beautiful views over the bay - a great spot to enjoy an ice cream or a light meal after a walk along the South West Coast Path or day spent at the beach.

Just down the coast brings you to the stunning villages of Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers, sitting opposite each other across the Yealm Estuary. A haven for yachtsmen and artists, here you'll find some excellent waterside pubs serving super fresh seafood, watersport hire and instruction, and some idyllic scenes as the boats come and go on the creek. Travelling west soon brings you to the maritime city of Plymouth, home to The National Marine Aquarium and a huge choice of restaurants, bars, shops and attractions.
