About Salcombe

The bustling town of Salcombe has house prices higher than some of London's most desirable postcodes, including Notting Hill and Regent's Park. But there's no reason why everyone can't have a piece of this exclusive resort by staying in one of our holiday cottages in and around the town.

Hugely popular due to its waterside location, Salcombe boasts beautiful sandy beaches and is a real hub for sailing activity. The high street is brimming with a mix of well-known brands and independent boutiques, busy pubs and restaurants, and there are plenty of places for a coffee or a delicious local ice cream.

It's only a short hop on the passenger ferry across to East Portlemouth for some fun on the beach, a walk along the South West Coast Path or some refreshments at the Venus Café. You can also take a ferry to the beach at South Sands which has kayaks and paddle boards for hire at Bo's Beach Café in the old lifeboat house. And if you plan to spend the lunch time at the beach, nearby North Sands is home to the popular Winking Prawn café which caters particularly well for families. It even has a dressing up box to keep children busy whilst you relax overlooking the water.

Salcombe is set within the picturesque South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is a wonderful spot for exploring the surrounding coastline and countryside. If you're looking for a real buzz then book a stay during the annual Regatta Week which celebrates the town's maritime heritage in the form of fun events from sailing and air displays to sandcastle competitions and a torch-lit procession.

We're sure that you'll enjoy a visit to Salcombe whether you're an experienced sailor or simply fancy dipping your toes in to test the water.
