About Malborough

Located between Kingsbridge, Hope Cove and Salcombe, Malborough is a pretty, quiet and traditional village, inland but with views that stretch to the clifftops by Bolt Head and East Soar. As a result, holidays in Malborough offer a unique combination of easy access to all the things that make a holiday in the South Hams so special, but slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the summer crowds.

At the centre of a triangle of holiday hotspots, Malborough is a five minute drive from a myriad of beautiful beaches, with particular favourites including Soar Mill Cove, South Milton, North Sands, South Sands and those at both Inner and Outer Hope.

As a spectacularly beautiful part of the world, outdoor activities and water sports are very much part of the experience, and once again Malborough is in an ideal position to enjoy them, with kayaking at South Sands, surfing at Bantham and boat hire at Whitestrand Boat Hire in the centre of Salcombe.

Staying in Malborough also gives you easy access to a variety of points along the South West Coast Path - inviting you to join it for walks from Bolberry Down, East Soar Farm or by the beautiful National Trust property at Overbecks, for example.

Each of these locations has the added benefit of offering beautiful places to sit and have afternoon tea, lunch or drinks at any time of the day. While Malborough itself has two pubs to visit, The Old Inn and The Royal Oak, which has regular live music from local bands, each of the surrounding villages are also home to an array of superb restaurants that make excellent use of local produce. As a result, holidays in this part of Devon are most definitely a foodie experience. Head to the likes of The Winking Prawn at North Sands for casual seafood, The Beach House at South Milton for dinner at sunset with the most exceptional views and local ice cream at Salcombe Dairy.
