Old Thatch, a delightful Grade 2 listed thatched cottage dating back to the early 16^th century is located in the small hamlet of Widewell, overlooking the seaside village of Torcross and Start Bay. Recently totally renovated it retains plenty of period features whilst providing comfortable and attractive accommodation for families looking for something special. A large but cosy sitting room with exposed beams and open fire is a great place to relax and a door opens into a light and airy conservatory overlooking the garden, furnished with a large dining table; a perfect spot for leisurely meals.  A large traditional farmhouse kitchen with electric Aga will inspire guests to culinary triumphs and upstairs there are four comfortable bedrooms.

From the top of the garden guests can enjoy a panoramic view of Start Bay and a short but steep walk/drive down the hill brings you to Torcross with the popular Start Bay Inn and the beach. Torcross has two cafes and from there it is a pleasant coastal drive to the historic port of Dartmouth. Go the other way to the market town of Kingsbridge and the yacht haven of Salcombe.  There are plenty of opportunities for bracing cliff top walks nearby and lots to do in the area with the knowledge that after a hectic day, Old Thatch will welcome you home.

Accommodation. Hallway with step down to large sitting room with sofas and armchairs surrounding an open fire, 40 inch TV, DVD and Apple TV. Door to spacious conservatory with dining table and seating for 8 as well as table football. French windows to patio. Off hall, farmhouse kitchen equipped with electric Aga, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and butler sink. Outside utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.  Ground floor shower room with walk in shower, twin hand basins and WC. Stairs to first floor. Large master bedroom 1 with 6ft four poster bed and sea views. Double bedroom 2 with 5ft double bed. Double bedroom 3 with 4ft 6in double bed. Jack and Jill family bathroom with bath and shower over, hand basin and WC connect bedrooms 3 and 4. Bunk bedroom with sturdy 3ft bunk beds.

Outside: Patio accessed from either kitchen or conservatory and furnished with garden table and chairs and large sunshade. Steps lead up the garden to a viewing area, also equipped with garden table and chairs.

Please note that parts of the large garden are terraced and walled with drops. Younger children should be accompanied at all times.

Parking: Off road parking for up to 3 cars.

Stokeley Farm Shop 1 mile. Garage with good food and leisure shop, East Charleton 3 miles.  Kingsbridge with all facilities 6 miles. Dartmouth 8 miles.
