A holiday cottage in East Portlemouth offers the best bits of South Devon all in one place! Perched on the Salcombe estuary, you'll find golden beaches right on your doorstep where you can relax and unwind. For those feeling more adventurous, the estuary is perfect for sailing, kayaking and SUP boarding, or you can pick up the South West Coast Path for a spectacular clifftop walk. Salcombe, with its boutiques, bars and restaurants, is only a short ride on a passenger ferry.
Just metres from the beach with its own private mooring and beach access is Arran, a beautiful period property. There's plenty of room for eight guests, and it is also one of our dog-friendly cottages, so it's perfect for an extra special seaside holiday with family and friends.
East Portlemouth is a small village overlooking the Salcombe estuary. Boasting plenty of golden sands, particularly at low tide, visitors have a choice of beaches including the popular spots of Mill Bay and Sunny Cove. Beach lovers will also want to spend time on the Salcombe side beaches of South Sands and North Sands, the latter of which is home to the fantastic Winking Prawn café.
The Salcombe estuary is a real hub for sailing so you'll be pleased to know that you can bring your own boat to one of our fantastic properties at East Portlemouth, which has its own private beach and mooring. Alternatively, you may prefer kayaking or paddle boarding down the estuary to the beautiful South Pool Creek, Frogmore and on to the town of Kingsbridge. Keen walkers will love the South West Coast Path which runs close by, taking you to Gara Rock, with its family friendly Café-ODE, and on to East Prawle where you can enjoy a stop off at the popular pub, The Pig's Nose.
And if you fancy immersing yourself in the hustle and bustle of Salcombe on the opposite bank, it couldn't be easier, with regular passenger ferries to take you the short hop across the water. Property prices in Salcombe are now some of the highest in the country due to the desirable mixture of fantastic shops, restaurants, pubs and beaches. But for those wanting to step back from it all to enjoy the more tranquil side of life by the water, a holiday cottage in East Portlemouth will provide the best of both worlds.
