About East Prawle

East Prawle is a peaceful village, surrounded by picturesque countryside, and rugged coastline - peppered with rocky coves and secluded sandy beaches only accessible by foot or boat.

The South West Coast path is a short walk away, taking you to Prawle Point, Devon's southernmost tip, where you will find the 'Lookout' perched high on the cliff tops a centuries-old vantage point used to watch out for enemy ships, or sailors in trouble. This unspoilt stretch of coastline is a haven for birds, butterflies and wild flowers, including the rare Cirl Bunting which is frequently spotted here, and on a clear night you will be treated to starry skies that will take your breath away.

The village boasts an excellent pub, The Pig's Nose Inn, which offers good food and drink and frequently hosts live music, as well as a village shop and café that serves superb and hearty breakfasts to set you up for your day (open Easter to October).

The sandy beaches of Mill Bay, East Portlemouth, Gara Rock, and Lannacombe are all within walking distance - perfect for old-fashioned bucket-and-spade fun, rock pooling, sailing, fishing, bathing or simply relaxing and taking in the beautiful views.

The sailing mecca Salcombe, is nearby, and accessible by ferry from East Portlemouth (or by car if you take the long way round). There you can enjoy sailing, of course, as well as an excellent selection of shops and restaurants to tempt you, or simply find a spot scenic from which to sit back and watch the world go by.

Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth are all within easy reach by car.
