About the property

Coombe Park is a recently refurbished 200 year old farmhouse set in beautiful and spacious grounds in the Devon village of Chillington. Situated up a long quiet private lane slightly away from the village, this large retreat offers everything you would ever need for a family or group holiday. Although it is only a 2½ mile trip to the simply stunning Slapton Sands beach, for the days you want to avoid using the car, you can explore the four acres of grounds, including woodland areas which provide a great place for walks and for the kids to run off some steam, the south facing patio, and private heated swimming pool. The unique location of the farmhouse also means there is a real feeling of being secluded and away from it all, yet still being only a level ½ mile walk to the village pub and shop. This house is light, spacious and provides a perfect place to relax and appreciate the wonderful countryside views seen through most windows. Perfect for group breaks at all times of the year.

Accommodation:

Front door to kitchen with slate floor, oil fired rayburn cooking range, breakfast bar, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, further electric cooker and ceramic hobs. Patio doors to swimming pool area and door leading to lower barn with tumble dryer and Football table and WC. Kitchen leads to hallway whereby you can access dining room with feature fireplace and table to seat 8/10 and living room with flat screen TV, DVD player, three sofas, wood burning stove, snug/play area with games, doors leading to front patio. First floor landing which accesses all bedrooms, most of which have valley or countryside views. Bedroom 1 with 5ft king size bed. Bedroom 2 with 3ft twin beds. Bedroom 3 with 6ft super king size bed, adjacent bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Bedroom 4 with 3ft bunk beds. Bedroom 5 with 3ft twin beds. Bathroom also off landing area with bath, shower over, basin and WC. 

Outside:

Four acres of interesting grounds surround the house including stunning woodland, land with adjacent stream and a large paddock. If this isn't enough, there is also a front patio with bench and table which leads down steps to an enclosed garden and a rear outdoor heated swimming pool with terrace area, quality garden furniture and Weber barbecue, and 4 sun loungers.

Parking: Ample parking on private driveway (For at least 4 cars)

  • The heated swimming pool (from 3ft to 6ft 6in deep) is only open from the beginning of April until the end of September. DOGS MUST BE KEPT OUT OF THE POOL FOR THEIR OWN WELFARE.
  • The Rayburn is alight all year except for June, July, August and the first two weeks of September.
